Recreating an Illustration: Part 1

BalloonsLately I’ve been looking through some of my first artwork. Although I love them, my design technique has changed a lot! I’ve been thinking of recreating some of my original illustrations – so I figured I would do a blog series showing my design process.

The illustration I’ll be working on? An old favourite: Balloons! Each day I will post a picture of a different step in my creative process!

Today I’m presenting my original artwork. This was created in 2009 when I first discovered the beauty of Adobe Illustrator, but hadn’t yet been introduced to the Pen Tool. I worked mostly with the Paint Brush tool at that time. I was teaching myself Illustrator, so I really didn’t have much of a technique to speak of.

But stay tuned! I’ve learned much in the past four years – and I’ll share it with you in the upcoming posts! (:

Have a beautiful day! ♥
