One of my favorite things about being out in the garden is the little surprises tucked between the leaves. Often while I was out deadheading the flower bushes, I find myself locked in an inquiring glance with a praying mantis.

The Power of a Simple Question 💚

Those quiet moments in the garden always seem to get my heart reflective. Watching a mantis sit so still in a prayerful pose made me think about how much it means when we take the time to lift each other up.

We all have those days where things feel a bit heavy, and honestly, sometimes just hearing a loved one say, “I’ve been praying for you,” is exactly what’s needed to lift our heart. It’s a reminder that you’re seen and cared for, both by your friends and by the Creator.

That’s actually why I decided to adapt this design for the t-shirts in a special way. On the shirts, the little mantis is asking: “How can I pray for you?” I love the idea of using my art to open a door for someone else. You never know who you might run into while running errands or walking through the neighborhood who is just waiting for someone to ask that. It’s such a simple, gentle way to share the love of God with the world around us. After all, who knows who needs prayer unless we take the moment to ask?
